My Shoot For Rue 114

The images of my Rue 114 shoot are finally in and I can’t wait to share them with you! The photo’s look absolutely stunning; so sexy and fierce! With the big hair and beautiful makeup, I felt like a total African bombshell. And the clothes are to die for! Serwah Asante, the designer of Rue 114, created beautiful dresses, skirts, and blouses that look fabulous on women of all sizes. Her Intro 2012 Capsule Collection was inspired by her Ghanaian roots and love for the female form. So they’ll make any woman proud to show off her feminine curves.

The shoot took place in Harlem, New York in one of the most beautiful brownstones. The wood paneling and antique furniture gave of the impression that we were somewhere in Ghana, which was exactly the look Serwah was going for.

If you follow me on Facebook, you probably remember me mentioning that the brownstone was super dusty. The dust was so thick that everyone on set had trouble breathing. Apparently, the owner of the brownstone only uses a few rooms while  the rest of his home is completely unattended. This was such a shame, really. The brownstone was so beautiful! But I guess “To each their own.” And after about 30 minutes of open-window ventilation, we were all breathing just fine.


Despite the dust, the images came out perfectly. Serwah wanted me to give off a devious yet sexy look in my poses. This was super hard for me since I’m always so happy and never very devious. Also, if you notice, my body is a little more voluptuous in these pictures! Would you believe that I have on fake boobs AND a fake butt? Well, yes, I do! Serwah really wants people to know that she makes beautiful clothing for women of all sizes ( and not just my small frame). So, she brought a fake butt (I brought my own padded bra) and we made it work! LOL! It felt great being bootylicious for a day.

Well, the images are out and the website is up! Let me know what you guy’s think! I’m a little partial towards the way I look in the cream-colored shirt with the blue and cream skirt. But to be honest, I think everyone is my favorite!
